On Monday May 13th, wine importer Les Généreux and a team of Weinakademiker will organise a sensorysational sweet wine tasting in Grand Hotel Karel V in Utrecht. For this event, we will showcase a selection of 12 (noble) sweet icon wines from all over the world.
Job de Swart MW will present a broad range of styles that differs in origin, grape composition, bottle age, production method and sweetness level including top quality Sauternes, Tokaji and Riesling. Since one becomes hungry after such a spectacular tasting, we will follow-up with a wonderful lunch by Karel V.
Co-presenters Günter Triebaumer (confirmed) and Bérénice Lurton (pending)
We are honoured that Günter Triebaumer of Triebaumer Winery in Rust (Austria) will join us for this special event. He teaches at Weinakademie Österreich and is a well-known speaker on sweet wines in Germany and Austria. Hopefully, we can also welcome Bérénice Lurton of the prestigious and biodynamically farmed Château Climens in Barsac. Both will share their vision on sweet wine production and wines presented in the glass, which will most definitely result in a very interesting exchange of views.
The preliminary programme is as follows:
10.00 h : reception
10.30 h : start of the sweet wine tasting
12.30 h : intermezzo
12.45 h : start of a 3-course lunch
14.45 h : departure
